During warm weather, it’s important to stay cool, comfortable, and hydrated.
Here are some simple ways you can help protect yourself during hot days:

  • Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day, especially water.
  • We will regularly offer you cold drinks and water refills.

  • Wear light, comfortable clothing and avoid too many layers.
  • If you feel warm, try taking a cool shower where it is safe to do so.
  • During very hot periods, you can make use of a cool towel to help lower your temperature.

πŸ₯— Cold & Refreshing Foods

  • Enjoy cold foods such as salads, fruit salad, yogurt, jelly, fruit pots, and ice cream to help you stay refreshed.

🏠 Keeping Your Room Cool

  • Close blinds or curtains to block direct sunlight.
  • Turn off unnecessary lights or electrical equipment.
  • Open windows when the air outside is cooler and it is safe to do so.

⚠️ Important Safety Reminders

  • Please make sure you are wearing your emergency pendant at all times if one has been provided.
  • Medicines should be kept below 25Β°C and away from direct sunlight.
  • Please tell us if you feel dizzy, confused, unusually tired, or unwell, as these can be early signs of dehydration.

🌞 Staying Safe Outdoors

  • Avoid sitting in direct sunlight for long periods.
  • Wear a hat and sunglasses or other protective eyewear when going outside.
  • Use Factor 50 sunscreen to help protect your skin.
