Keeping Our Cool During the Heatwave

A Huge Thank You to Our Incredible Team

June brought some of the hottest weather England has ever experienced, with record-breaking temperatures
experienced across the country. The exceptional heat created additional challenges for everyone working in health
and social care, particularly when supporting vulnerable people in their own homes. England has just experienced
its hottest June on record, with temperatures reaching unprecedented levels in many parts of the country. (The
Guardian)

Despite these challenging conditions, our MMT Healthcare team demonstrated exactly what makes our
organisation special.

Every day our care staff continued to provide safe, compassionate and person-centred care, ensuring that our clients
remained comfortable, hydrated and well supported throughout the hottest days.

Our achievements during the heatwave included:
  • Clients receiving regular hydration support
  • Extra wellbeing checks where required
  • Care plans adapted to suit the weather
  • Families kept informed
  • Excellent teamwork across all services

We are especially pleased to report that there have been no reports of heat-related illness amongst our clients (and
staff) during this period. This is a reflection of the professionalism, vigilance and dedication shown by every
member of staff.

Whether you covered extra calls, changed your schedule, worked in uncomfortable temperatures or simply
continued delivering outstanding care with a smile, thank you.

Every member of the MMT Healthcare family played an important part in keeping our clients safe.
You should all be incredibly proud.
